The Blaze 94 W is what we like to call “sporty”. It delivers on many levels, but it is made for the high octane delight of a skier that loves to turn on a dime, in every type of terrain. The 0.3mm thick layer of titanal across the binding platform creates an impressively direct power transfer from skier movement to ski action. Keeping the titanal only under the foot creates an incredibly fun and responsive turning experience, immediately from initiation, with little effort. Although it is designed with short turn radius goals, the 3D Radius Sidecut and Hybrid Multilayer Woodcore significantly enhances the ski's liveliness and maneuverability for any turn shape. At only 1427g (165cm length) and with the addition of the Suspension Tip and Tail (basically a rubbery “bumper” for whatever the ski comes in contact with), it is a fantastic touring ski as well. Regardless of resort skiing glory, off piste endeavors, or backcountry objectives, the Blaze 94 offers an incredibly wide range of use in all conditions.

Volkl Freeride - Blaze line

More and more freeride enthusiasts are creating a new era of skiing. They are looking for dynamic, lightweight products that are perfect for a full day of skiing, in a variety of snow conditions. These skiers are constantly on the lookout for new terrain - far away from the groomed slopes or resorts. The all-new Blaze series, which includes one of the lightest freeride skis, will provide skilled skiers who love short turns with plenty of off-piste fun. The Blaze 86, 94, and 106 (for men) and 86 W, 94W, and 106W (for women) are designed to maximize skiers' support for short turns, as well as make easier transitions to turns than comparable Titanal skis. The weight of just 1430 g (Blaze 86), 1455 g (Blaze 94), 1593 g (Blaze 106), 1290 g (Blaze 86W), 1455 g (Blaze 94W) or 1592 g (Blaze 106W) translates not only into excellent maneuverability for this new category of skis, but also facilitates approaches whenever a skier decides to put on the skins and venture out in search of even better conditions. Energy transfer and resilience are exactly at the level that every freerider expects.

Hybrid Multilayer Woodcore

The ultra-lightweight Hybrid Multilayer Woodcore is a remarkably complex design solution used on Blaze skis. The use of lightweight and very stable poplar and beech wood, weighed and selected according to weight even before gluing, is a hallmark of this core. Tip to Tail construction provides for the use of wood along its entire length - from the very beaks to the ends - which ensures a harmonious combination of two such important features: excellent stability and light weight. In the center of the core is a CNC-milled Isocore area, which takes care of the ski's maximum maneuverability and dynamics. All in all, this construction results in a ski that achieves the stability to meet the high demands of freeriders - and at a weight that is only slightly beyond that of a ski touring skis.

Tip&Tail Rocker

The rocker camber occurs only in the tip area and the back of the ski, with traditional camber under the binding. This allows the skis to perform better in powder snow and to transition better from edge to edge.

Suspension Tips & Tails

Insertions on the tip and back of the ski made of TPU, or thermoplastic polyurethane. They act like a shock absorber - they cancel out ski vibrations. TPU is a special plastic with similar properties to elastic rubber. TPU is pliable and flexible, and does not change its properties under the influence of low temperatures, as well as during the influence of other weather conditions.
