Since 1970, when Völkl introduced the Renntiger series, there hasn't been a ski that has represented performance and success as much as the Racetiger. For lovers of super-fast, long turns with clear edge pressure, there is virtually no alternative.
For the upcoming season, we have used Tailored Carbon Tips for the first time in the Racetiger GS. Perfectly matched carbon fibers allow the skis to be optimally adapted to their area of use. The thickness and arrangement of the fibers determine the force needed and accumulate energy where it is needed. Thus, they enable agility and precise tip response in the initial phase of a turn. The new GS skis have ideal steering and require less power.
This is due in particular to a significantly shortened and lowered Tip Rocker and a modified geometry that shortens the radius by 2 m. The reduced width under the boot increases dynamics and speeds up edge changes. Racetiger GS skis are available for the first time in a length of 168 cm, which is less than 170 cm.

Multilayer Woodcore

Multilayer woodcore found in half of the ski's cross-section, made from the finest poplar wood, reinforced with beech wood in the binding mounting area.

Tip rocker

The structure of the ski is curved upward only in the bow zone, while the middle and back of the ski is straightened due to its own tension. This makes the skis more agile and better able to handle bumps.

Tailored Carbon Tips

New carbon beaks that are perfectly tailored to the user's needs - that's right, Tailored Carbon Tips - are created during an innovative manufacturing process whereby individual carbon fibers are placed on a support material. The use of fibers of a specific thickness and their placement with millimeter precision allows you to perfectly adjust the stiffness, twist and thus the properties of the skis. The fibers ensure that dynamic forces are brought to the areas of the ski where they are needed. The Tailored Carbon Tips used in the ski, which are visible from the outside, are lightweight, allow smooth bow reactions with less effort, and quickly store energy. Thus, the tailored carbon prows set new standards for precision, direct response and the enjoyment of active downhill skiing.

Volkl 3D.GLASS

3D.GLASS is Volkl engineers' idea of stiffening skis for the allmountain category. Conditions on the ski slopes vary, often very challenging. The answer to this challenge is to reinforce the skis with a three-dimensional layer of fiberglass along the entire length and width of the board - including over the edges.

Polyethylene Slide Base P-Tex 4504

Sintered polyethylene mass with very high density in addition to high abrasion resistance and excellent wax absorption, P-Tex 4504 is extremely fast. It is used only in the highest models of racing skis. The material has been enhanced with special additives, providing increased slip and maximum speed during racing.
