The Salomon sports company was set up in 1947 and has received only positive feedback ever since. Initially it dealt with saws and offered ski sharpening. It wasn′t until 10 years later that the first "le lift" heel hold bindings were on the market, replacing leather straps. The attachment of boots to skis was perfected and in 1966 it was used at the World Championships in Portilo, Chile. The system became so effective that one million pairs of bindings were sold in 1972. Encouraged by the huge success, the manufacturers decided to introduce the Salomon brand of alpine ski boots, which immediately became popular. In 1990, skis went on sale, followed two years later by summer hiking shoes. The 21st century also began with positively received innovations, with the Rair Race model, the first XA series boot and winter softshell clothing entering the market. 2008 saw the development of Custom Fit™ technology and 2013 saw the introduction of Custom Fit™3D, which allowed Salomon shoes to fit even better to the feet. In 2016, the company made a U-turn in its development and outlined the direction it wanted to take - which is to think back to its childhood and dedicate time to outdoor play. The PREDICT 2 is a shoe by Salomon based on a completely new design created for running on asphalt. The aim was to reduce stress on the knees during running. What sets the PREDICT 2 apart from other road running shoes is the way the shoe is constructed.
