Deuter Trail 18 is a lightweight alpine backpack designed for mountain sports enthusiasts and via ferrata lovers who appreciate a pack that fits snugly against the body while also being highly breathable. It is perfectly suited for weekend excursions.
The heart of the backpack is an extremely lightweight and comfortable Airstripes carrying system with reduced contact area, whose mesh provides maximum airflow, significantly increasing user efficiency. The movable, ergonomic, perforated shoulder straps with soft finishes, adjustable and removable chest strap, load adjustment straps, and adjustable hip belt ensure a customized fit for the user. The hip belt can be rolled up and stowed behind the back panel when not needed.
The backpack features a flexible Delrin® U-shaped frame, which evenly distributes its weight. This solution allows for a better fit of the backpack, appropriate weight balance, and the transfer of a certain load to the hips.
The main compartment, secured with drawstring straps, can successfully accommodate items essential for a weekend trip. Access can also be gained from the front through a wide opening using a zipper. This solution allows for quick and easy access to the contents of the backpack. Inside, there is a pocket compatible with a hydration system with a capacity of up to 3 liters.
Above the main compartment, there is a lid with two zippered pockets. The first external pocket is the perfect place to store a first-aid kit, hat, or gloves, while the second internal pocket can hold a wallet, phone, keys, and other valuables.
On one side, there is an elastic pocket where maps, drinks, or snacks can be conveniently stored. On the other side, the pocket is zippered and is perfect for keeping gloves handy for using on chains. The backpack also features loops for securing trekking poles, an ice axe, a whistle on the chest strap, attachment loops for a helmet holder, and a stowable rain cover.
Loops on the straps hold the carabiners from the via ferrata set at hand. This, combined with the compact, comfortable fit of the backpack, provides greater safety while climbing routes with a fixed rope.
The backpack is made from extremely durable, yet lightweight materials, all of which are sourced from recycled materials and, importantly, do not contain harmful PFC substances for the natural environment.
