The Deuter Freerider 28 SL is an ultra-lightweight women's backpack designed for skitouring, freeriding and snowshoe trekking expeditions. It is perfect for day or weekend expeditions.

The heart of the backpack is the Deuter Alpine carry system. For use in climbing regions, it is essential to ensure an optimum balance between carrying comfort, durability and functionality in terms of weight. The two pads with soft straps flexibly embrace the back with every movement, so that, in combination with the streamlined shape of the backpack, the load is always close to the body's centre of gravity, guaranteeing full control.

Strong shoulder straps with soft finish, adjustable chest strap, load adjustment straps and adjustable hip belt ensure an individual fit for the user.

The SL version stands for a special women's cut. The back length on this model is specific to ladies: on average, women have shorter backs than men. The carry system is therefore slightly shorter than in standard backpacks from the Deuter brand. In addition, it has been specially adapted to the female anatomy.

The backpack has a flexible Delrin® U-shaped frame, which distributes its weight evenly. This design allows the backpack to fit better, balance the weight appropriately and transfer some load to the hips.

The zippered main compartment successfully accommodates the essentials for a day trip. It also includes a pocket compatible with a reservoir system with a capacity of up to 3 litres. A smaller compartment also zipped up is ideal for storing a probe and shovel so that avalanche equipment can be accessed quickly in an emergency.

Side of the main compartment is a small zipped pocket. It will be ideal for storing valuables and other small items.

The backpack has tie-down straps, an axe-check, trekking poles, a whistle on the chest strap and attachment loops for a helmet holder. There is a goggle or goggle holder on the ergonomically padded shoulder straps.

Two dedicated straps attached to the backpack's loops allow skis, snowboard or snowshoes to be attached to the backpack in an instant - skis diagonally translated at the back or in the A-frame, snowboard or snowshoes in the upright position. These versatile gear straps can also be used as compression straps.

The loops on the hip fin hold the carabiners from the climbing kit. This, combined with the compact, comfortable fit of the backpack, ensures greater safety when climbing.

The backpack is made from extremely strong yet lightweight materials that do not contain environmentally harmful PFCs.
