The brand came to life in the 50s when Romano Boretti took over the shop CON.T.E ( Confezione Tessuti Esclusivi). The boutique was known for selling products from very elegant collection for women, created by the best tailors of Florence. In 1958 the shop changed its name to Conte of Florence. Originally, Conte of Florence was associated with hats, but over the years the company began to manufacture also clothing and ski, golf and yachting gear. CoF uses the Florence coat of arms as its logo.
