Amundsen Peak Anorak men's ski touring jacket from Amundsen Sports' 2011 Antarctic expedition - designed for extreme mountain conditions. Made from 3-layer Schoeller® fabric with c_change™ membrane that responds dynamically to temperature and activity level, it provides excellent waterproofness and breathability while maintaining full freedom of movement.
Key technologies and performance effects:
- C_change™ membrane (Schoeller®) - an intelligent structure that responds to changes in temperature, it opens micropores at increased activity, increasing breathability, and closes them when the temperature drops, improving thermal insulation.
- 3-layer Schoeller® 4-Way Stretch fabric - provides full flexibility, wind and water resistance (10,000 mm) and high breathability (18,000 g/m²/24h).
- Waterproof zips and taped seams - guarantee waterproofing in intense precipitation and when exposed to snow.
- Ventilation zips on the sides - allows temperature regulation during intense approaches.
- Ski-helmet compatible hood - features three-point adjustment for optimal fit.
- Ski-pass pocket on left sleeve - provides quick access on the slopes.
Purpose and conditions of use: Designed for skitouring and demanding mountain activities in variable weather conditions, it provides reliable protection against water, wind and wind chill while maintaining a high level of breathability.
Interesting fact: the membrane c_change™ used was developed in Switzerland and is inspired by the mechanism of the pine cone - it reacts to temperature changes, opening or closing pores to maintain the optimal body microclimate.
