To get straight to the point: the Blaze 114 is as wide-ranging as its field of application. It is also produced in an environmentally friendly way. Völkl uses a recycled base and only FSC-certified wood in combination with Green Core technology. The Isocore inside the wood core is made from recycled PET bottles instead of conventional PU foam. In terms of performance, the Blaze 114 is designed for off-piste adventures. Thanks to its effective weight-performance ratio, it is also suitable as a touring ski for freeride descents. But it is best used for downhill runs. The rather narrow 18-metre radius in relation to the 192-centimetre ski length ensures manoeuvrability previously unknown in this category. This is further supported by the open radius at both the tip and tail in combination with the Tip and Tail Rocker profile.

To ensure a smooth ride at high speeds, a 0.3 mm thick titanium plate has been added to the 3D Radius Sidecut in the centre of the ski, just above the sidewall. This allows the ski to be controlled with great precision – you will notice this with every turn initiation. By the way, these handling characteristics also work very well when occasionally skiing on groomed slopes! To keep these all-mountain skis as manoeuvrable as possible, the outer areas of the front and rear are not equipped with titanium.

The Blaze model has been designed for increased flexibility in ski length, so that taller or heavier skiers can enjoy the same handling characteristics as shorter, lighter skiers.
