Rossignol is a ski brand with a more than 100 years of experience and passion for sport. In 1907 talented carpenter and passionate skier Abel Rossignol created his first skis made of wood. Golden medals won during the most important ski competitions became the key to the brand’s success. In 1937 Emile Allais became the World Champion in alpine skiing, in 1948 Henri Oreiller won golden medal at Winter Olympic Games in St. Moritz.

In 1956 Rossignol products were launched on the world market by Laurent Boix-Vives who took over the helm of the company. The use of innovative materials contributed to winning another golden medals. Skis made from metal were first used during Winter Olympic Games in Squaw Valley, moreover, Rossignol glass fiber became a worldwide success in 1965. The French brand took over Dynastar and in 1970 sold more than one million skis becoming the leader in the production of ski gear.

Rossignol also introduced the offer of snowboards and ski boots. Such sportsmen as Jean Vuarnet, Adrien Duvillard, Erika Hess, Alberto Tomba, Bode Miller or Vincent Vittoz contributed to the great success of the brand. In 2005 Rossignol was taken over by Quiksilver and Bruno Cercley who extended its range of products by ski accessories and apparel.
