The Mantra model marked the beginning of the ultra-strong freeride ski models. This range of skis is aimed at skiers who want to carve their line off-piste in complete freedom, without any restrictions, while enjoying the total control offered by the sporty design of all-mountain skis. The new Blaze series even introduces an additional dimension, aimed primarily at intuitive freeriders who prefer a sporty riding style, but also value fun and lightness. Weighing just 1,566 grams (179 cm long), the Blaze 94 is designed to be suitable for a very wide range of uses and to provide exceptional glide in almost all snow conditions.
The Titanal binding platform, which is only 0.3 mm thick, allows for direct transmission of support and rapid pressure build-up for precise edge response. The benefit of a more precise and faster ski response is particularly noticeable in narrow passages and on uneven terrain, and is also reflected in reduced physical exertion. These benefits are mainly due to the 3D radius design. Although Blaze was designed for fast, tight turns, its three different radii of curvature, including a multi-layer hybrid wood core from tip to tail, are perfect for all types of riding and are suitable even for the most ambitious applications. Another unique feature of this ski is the Suspension Tip. The flexible rubber material used on the tip and tail acts as a shock absorber, especially in windy conditions or on packed snow, and provides increased resistance to disruption and optimal flotation. Thanks to its low weight, the Blaze is also popular as a freeride and touring ski. Völkl offers specially adapted skins for all Blaze models in all sizes for this purpose.
